Alcohol Drug Information School (ADIS) Overview: Akeela’s ADIS program is designed for participants who do not have a chemical dependence diagnosis. It is the program for those whom an educational rather than a treatment program is deemed necessary, and therefore less structured and restrictive than most programs in the continuum of services. Akeela uses the state-approved Core Curriculum PRIME for Life for indicated populations. The program is a minimum of 12 hours in length and meets for three consecutive days in the early evening or a Friday evening and all day Saturday configuration. A fee for service program, referrals come from any Alcohol Safety Action Program (ASAP), approved assessment provider, or acting ASAP agency. Akeela staffs the program with quality instructors that have completed the ADIS Prevention Research Institute (PRI) training and participate annually in the required training updates.
