TREATMENT SERVICES

Akeela has provided the Anchorage community with substance abuse recovery services for over 30 years. Akeela House, our long-term residential treatment program is our oldest program and the anchor for all of our programs.

    Treatment services include:
    • Assessments
    • Treatment plans
    • Group counseling sessions
    • Individual counseling
    • Referrals for ancillary services
    • Drug & alcohol education

Residential treatment

The Akeela House Residential Substance Abuse Recovery Center is a therapeutic community long-term (12-18 months) residential center using a family system to provide rehabilitation in a non-judgemental environment.

For those whose level of alcohol or other substance dependence has seriously disrupted their daily functioning, our inpatient programs assist individuals in overcoming barriers to recovery. The residential program helps patients deal with the issues of early recovery. Patients are taught to recognize the signs and symptoms of the illness, how to manage emotions and stress, and how to recognize triggers to drinking and drug use and relapse. All patients receive thorough aftercare counseling and referral for continuing treatment on an outpatient basis following the completion of the residential stay.

Outpatient treatment

Akeela has designed its outpatient services with an understanding that individuals are complex and unique. When you make an appointment for services, your first session will be spent answering questions that will help us understand what services you need.

Our clinical staff will treat you with respect, recognizing that you are in charge of your own health. They will work with you to determine a course of treatment - what it is that you need or want to accomplish through your meetings with them - and how to make that happen.

Are Outpatient Services Right For You? Individuals use Akeela’s outpatient services for a wide-range of reasons, including:
  • coping with ongoing conflict
  • working through marriage or family tensions
  • addressing a substance use problem or addiction
  • complying with a court order to receive treatment, to reinstate driving privileges, or for other reasons.
Where do referrals come from?
  • Lawyers
  • Law enforcement
  • Clergy
  • Family & friends
Anyone can participate in the program.

Payment:
Akeela accepts private insurance, Medicaid, and cash. Competitive rates with a payment contract are available.
